Food Safety Supervisor Recertification Course
Keep your Food Safety Supervisor credentials current with ITeC Academy’s streamlined recertification course. Assessed by Accredited Food Safety Supervisor Trainers, this program is practical, efficient and tailored to meet the NSW Food Authority’s requirements.
Supervisors are required to renew their certificate within 90 days of expiry and ITeC provides up to 8 weeks to complete the process. Delivered via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer, the course covers the accredited units SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety and SITXFSA006 Participate in safe food handling practices.
You will also complete an online assessment across NSW Food Authority key focus areas, Allergen Management, Cleaning and Sanitising Practices, Safe Egg Handling and Food Act Offences.
This recertification ensures you remain compliant and confident in maintaining the highest food safety standards.
Entry Requirements
• Students must already hold a current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate that is due to expire, or one that has expired within the last 90 days.
• Students must provide a copy of their previous Statement of Attainment showing completion of the units:
– SITXFSA005 Use hygienic practices for food safety
– SITXFSA006 Participate in safe food handling practices
• Good internet knowledge and ready access to the internet.
• Able to use a computer and have sound digital literacy skills.
• Reading and writing skills to answer assessment questions.
• Required to have own device to access the internet and the student learning portal.
Course Units
This skill set includes the following nationally recognised units:
– SITXFSA005 – Use hygienic practices for food safety
– SITXFSA006 – Participate in safe food handling practices
As part of the recertification process, students must also complete an online knowledge assessment addressing the NSW Food Authority Key Focus Areas:
– Allergen Management
– Safe Egg Handling
– Cleaning and Sanitising Practices
– Food Act Offences
Delivery
The Food Safety Supervisor Recertification is delivered through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer process for the required accredited units. This approach recognises the skills and knowledge students already hold, making the course efficient and focused on essential updates.
Students complete an online knowledge assessment covering the NSW Food Authority Key Focus Areas, including allergen management, safe egg handling, cleaning and sanitising practices, and food act offences.
ITeC Academy allows up to 8 weeks to complete the recertification process, providing flexibility while ensuring supervisors remain compliant with the requirement to renew their certification within 90 days of expiry.
