TRAINEESHIPS

ITeC Academy currently offers subsidized traineeship opportunities for eligible new entrant trainees, made possible through the NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled initiative.

Eligibility Criteria for Traineeships under Smart and Skilled:

  • Be 15 years of age or older.
  • Should either reside or work in NSW.
  • Must hold citizenship or residency status as an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian permanent humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand citizen.
  • Be classified as new entrant trainees, which means they have been employed for less than 3 months on a full-time basis or 12 months on a part-time or casual basis prior to the commencement of the traineeship.

SBAT TRAINING

School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBATs) offer students a valuable opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) qualification while still in school. By participating in SBAT training, students can substitute academic units for the HSC, with the traineeship contributing to their ATAR results. Students are remunerated by their employer and acquire invaluable real-world work experience.

Eligibility Criteria for School-Based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBAT):

  • Must be full-time students aged 15 years or older.
  • They need to have an agreement in place with their school to pursue school-based training.
  • Are required to work a minimum of 8 hours per week.
  • Qualify as new entrant trainees, meaning they have been employed for less than 3 months full-time or 12 months part-time or in a casual capacity prior to the commencement of the traineeship.
